our story

Geothermals_1.jpg

The Middle Fork Lodge (MFL) sits in the middle of 2.3 million acres of the Frank Church Wilderness in the beautifully scenic central region of Idaho. The Lodge was re-constructed by the current owner during the early 2000’s. Meticulously thought through, the Lodge renovation embodies the original structural integrity and history of what came before.  The Middle Fork Lodge is a place to energetically recharge one's mind, body, and soul. It simply was too special to keep all to oneself. Over time, the property slowly morphed into a refuge for relaxation and a break from the increasingly modern and digital world we live in today.

At MFL, we believe in creating unforgettable luxury experiences paired with an unparalleled level of the undiscovered American West. We invite you to come find your best, higher, and improved self at our respite haven and experience the unique magic that is the MFL.

Warmly,

The Middle Fork Lodge

“Even after flying over the Middle Fork Lodge for 30 years. . .

I had no idea what an incredible place existed there. the crew was fantastic, the amenities were far beyond any expectations, and the pool was a wonderful break from the hot weather.”

Kristin_Mark_Troy.jpg

The current owner of the lodge has spent the past 20 years investing in the meticulous renovation of this beautiful property. He has entrusted the care, of you, our wonderful guests and the MFL to Kristin and Mark Troy. Kristin and Mark embody the Middle Fork Lodge at its core. Both raised in Idaho, Mark grew up in a family of fly fisherman and has been guiding the crystal clear rivers of Idaho for nearly 4 decades. Kristin grew up not far from the MFL in Salmon ID where she and Mark raised two beautiful children, now grown, who are licensed river guides themselves. The two have owned and operated their own whitewater rafting and fishing company, Idaho Adventures, for 20 years. In addition, Kristin is the founding executive director of Lemhi Regional Land Trust, a non-profit private land conservation organization that has protected thousands of acres of land and wild habitat in the region. The most interesting part to their story . . . they managed Middle Fork Lodge 21+ years ago for 2 years in 1998 under the current owner. Kristin and Mark have returned to Middle Fork Lodge with their 20 years of accumulated knowledge since leaving and are the best possible general managers and hosts of a property as special as this.
